Pesto Meatballs offer a delightful twist on traditional meatballs by incorporating pesto, which adds a fresh, herby flavor. They are perfect as an appetizer, main course, or served over pasta.

Ingredients:

  • 250g of ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons of pesto
  • 50g of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 50g of breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • fresh basil for garnish

Kitchen Tools Needed:

  • mixing bowl
  • baking sheet
  • oven
  • frying pan

Instructions:

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, pesto, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, egg, and breadcrumbs. Mix until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
  • Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Drizzle olive oil over the meatballs and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • In the meantime, heat a frying pan over medium heat. Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to the pan to sear for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Serve the meatballs garnished with fresh basil.
